phone home – with jpegs

It’s a fine day to stay home as it turns out, for those of us who opted to stay close to home.

My husband on the other hand had to drive to Portland yesterday.  The roads are packed with unevenly worn snow and ice.

Turns out today is not the best day to make the return either; ODOT closed the road in two places; near Banks at the hwy 47 junction, and 5 miles west of Tillamook where they’re clearing slides and snow for at least a few more hours.

Right after he turned around and headed east on hwy 26 he found cars lined up on the  shoulder of the highway where drivers had spotted a pretty big herd of elk.  He pulled off too before taking this shot with his phone.  It’s looking a bit more like the North Pole (with trees) than Washington County!elk_by_26
