We’ve added a few photos to the site today. Several were taken from Maxwell Mountain Road last week. The other new shot was a second taken from sea kayak and affords a more panoramic view of Oeanside village the the relationship of the quarry to it. We used Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) tools to learn that the quarry is less than the mile discussed at the ONA meeting as the distance into Oceanside proper to be; the US Post Office on Pacific Avenue is .67 miles from the 200 Line Quarry.
You can find the new photos by following this link, or use the “Photos” navagation button at the top of the page.
And if you’d like to get a bird’s eye view of the 200 line quarry that’s very easy to read, try this link and search for Oceanside, Oregon, and zoom in. You’ll find the quarry near the top of the large clear cut area, just above the second forest service road north of Castle drive. Here’s a pdf file of the Arial View of Oceanside and 200 Line Quarry you can view without visiting the site too.
