Yes, it’s really been snowing.

winter_seascape1Finally home after a long stretch of work and family travel, the journey home included snowy vistas of the Coast Range and some beautiful sun breaks at home before the afternoon brought on more snow in the village.  I caught this month’s OVV header during that short lull in precipitation while the sun created stark contrasts on the surf around the rocks and the clouds beyond.  Great homecoming, and it’s good to be home.

On a less than heartening note; long time Headlight Herald reporter and editor Ken O’Toole got the ax from the Publisher Steve Hungerford, who – per his editorial announcing Ken’s departure – is commited to running an “efficient and effective” paper and will take on Ken’s role too.  Boo.  Time to get out my letter to the editor pen.

It’s Why We’re Here

and it’s why I got up before the crack of dawn last Friday. The moon was at its closest point to the earth a few days ago, brilliantly illuminating the beaches and seascapes, hills and neighborhood on a still, crisp and cloudless night. All this and fresh coffee too, before the workday hum started.
