Plenty of regulation rain today arrived and washed away the remains of Monday’s snow.
I went to the NOSD office today to do some volunteer web training for the wonderful office staff. On the way home, in the dim gray light that might have been a sunset, I saw what looked to be two or three hundred seagulls and brown pelicans huddled together on the beach below Mr. Money’s house. “Mr. Money’s” is the surfers nickname for the surf in line with the house located nearest the beach access across from the NOSD plant – often one of the better spots to surf on most surfable days. Today was not that day.

The weather forecast for today is a bust thus far; misty, soaking gray rain has not yielding to partial sun. Last weekend was glorious, memory not quite faded. Spent much of it in Pacific City where the sun did shine too. Thought I’d try take the flickr blog this feature for a spin and share a shot of two sun-lit surfers completing for one fast wave I snapped from the beach there.
Back here in Oceanside, trip to the post office to pick up mail was a bust. Shoulda gone yesterday – the P.O. is non-committal about its Saturday hours and is open sometimes not as early as 8 a.m. and not as late as 11 a.m. If it were sunny outside, I’d probably grouse less, but I have all that time I wanted to garden returned to other use. TJ says the Saturday hours have changed from 8 – 10 and now open from 9 – 11, but it’s not posted yet.
